Meet Verona’s own Aileen Bordman, author of Everyday Monet.  Her latest book showcases the exquisite taste of the beloved and legendary artist, Claude Monet.  His garden, home, and paintings provide inspiration for styling any home—from floral arrangements to dinners to decor and beyond. 

From the publisher:  “Aileen Bordman is a filmmaker, author, photographer, and the president and founder of Monet’s Palate, Inc., a company dedicated to sharing the world of Claude Monet. She is the coauthor (with Derek Fell) of Monet’s Palate Cookbook: The Artist & His Kitchen Garden at Giverny. Aileen is also the creator, writer, and producer of the acclaimed documentary film Monet’s Palate: A Gastronomic View from the Gardens of Giverny, which was narrated by Meryl Streep.”

Since 1896, the Essex County Overbrook Hospital had been one of the largest facilities in Essex County, New Jersey. Sitting on what began as a 325-acre plot in what was then Verona Township, Overbrook became the largest county-run hospital center in the State of New Jersey.

Author Kevin Kowalick will go over the history of the hospital from its inception in the 1800s to its downfall in 2018 as portrayed in his book Images of America: Essex County Overbrook Hospital.  Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Knit, crochet or sew clothing and accessories that will be distributed to Oasis women's shelter of Paterson, NJ.  Warm someone’s day with your own creation! 

Materials will be provided, but yarn donations are welcome.  Please register to let us know that you're coming.

Meet in the Library at the Verona Community Center Annex.

Can't join us in person?  You can still contribute!  Drop off your projects any time the Library is open.

Certified Reiki Practitioner Anne Shields will lead sessions of relaxation and meditation.  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat/blanket.
